Cafe
Intermezzo ($)
2442 Telegraph Avenue (Berkeley) |
Phone: 510-849-4592
Recommended Sandwich: Roast Beef Sandwich
Comment: Since this eatery is so close to UC Berkeley, literally within
a few blocks, it is always jam packed with students. So if you don't
mind the atmosphere, the sandwiches are enormous and the salads is
enough for 3 people to share. To add, it's cheap! Remember, it's cash
only.
Cheeseboard
Pizza ($)
1512 Shattuck Avenue (Berkeley) |
Phone: 510-549-3055
Recommended Dish: Today's Pizza
Comment: Inexpensive, tasty, thin crust pizza. This place has a different
pizza every day and I have yet to taste a day where the pizza was disappointing
in flavor. They also carry other breads and breakfast/snack pastries.
Zachary's
Pizza ($$)
5801 College Avenue (Oakland)* |
Phone: 510-655-6385*
1853 Solano Avenue (Berkeley) |
Phone: 510-525-5950
3110 Crow Canyon Place (San Ramon) |
Phone: 925-244-1222
Recommended Pizza: Chicken Pizza
Comment: They have a ton of variety here. You can eat their famous
pizza creations or you can make up your own combination of ingredients.
You can also enjoy their tasty & filling salads or bring home a
half baked pizza to slide into the oven when you feel the urge. Enjoy
your own flavorful, filling, fresh-out-of-the-oven taste of heaven.
North Bay
Fred's
Coffee Shop ($)
1917 Bridgeway (Sausalito) | Phone: 415-323-4575
Recommended Dish: Two Eggs with Deep Fried Two French Toast
Comment: A gorgeous place to binge and walk around. Enjoy the
view
Peninsula
Boulevard
Cafe ($-$$)
2 Poncetta Dr (Daly City) |
Phone: 650-755-3400
Recommended Dish: Meatball Sandwich
Comment: Sandwiches and burgers served up at normal to slightly
inflated prices, but great flavor and spectacular service with
a smile. Also serves pasta, meats, salads, soups, and other sides.
Stacks
Restaurant ($)
361 California Dr (Burlingame)* |
Phone: 650-579-1384*
600 Santa Cruz Ave (Menlo Park) |
Phone: 650-838-0066
Recommended Dish: Blueberry Pancakes
Comment: This restaurant not only has great food but it also
has great service. The wait staff are always smiling and who
wouldn't at this atrium-style breakfast cafe? It's charming,
comfortable, and has a small town feel. Their pancakes are famous--describing
them as generous portions is understating their pancakes. If
you have a craving for a good breakfast or brunch, you should
definitely consider this restaurant.
San
Francisco
Bix ($$$-$$$$)
56 Gold St (Financial District) |
Phone: 415-433-6300
Recommended Dish: New York Strip Steak
Comment: Their ambiance is one of the most appealing I've seen
in San Francisco. It is further enhanced by its semi-secret entrance,
live jazz in the background, and elegant
speakeasy
atmosphere. Their food is divine and very unique though overpriced.
However the tastiness of the food served forced me to recommend
this restaurant.
Tommy's
Joynt ($)
1011 Geary Blvd (Civic Center/Tenderloin) |
Phone: 415-775-4216
Recommended Dish: Beef Round Roast Meal
Comment: A cafeteria style restaurant that combines home comfort
with stylish fun. Go after work with some friends and coworkers
and enjoy the food, the company, and the drinks!
Town's
End Restaurant & Bakery ($-$$)
2 Townsend St (SOMA) |
Phone: 415-512-0749
Recommended Dish: Everything on the menu for brunch
Comment: Food always tastes better when the atmopshere is impeccable,
design is pristine, and the view is beautiful. Their complimentary
bread basket alone is worth the visit.
South Bay
Country
Gourmet Restaurant ($-$$)
1314 S. Mary Ave (Sunnyvale) | Phone; 408-733-9446
Recommended Dish: Country Gourmet Cheese Omelette
Comment: This dining joint has one of the best brunch menus
around in the Bay Area. It's not just the atmosphere and the impeccable
service, it's their fresh ingredients and delicious combinations.
Cuisine here is superb yet affordable!
Country
Inn Cafe ($-$$)
2010 El Camino Real (Santa Clara) | Phone: 408-244-6267
Recommended Dish: Any breakfast meal!
Comment: This restaurant has the concept of a diner or breakfast
joint down to a tee. Breakfast is on the traditional side and yet
they make every dish delicious and perfect.
