Crixa
Cakes ($)
2748 Adeline St (Berkeley) | Phone: 510-548-0421
Recommended Dessert: Amaretti Cake
Comment: I have never tasted better cakes and pastries. Though
the prices are a little on the high side it is worth every penny
because every bite engulfs your taste buds in heavenly bliss.
I don't get to visit very often, a way to prevent expanding the
waistline, but every time I have visited I am never disappointed.
I will be back again and again in the future.
Gelateria
Naia ($)
2106 Shattuck Ave (Berkeley) | Phone: 510-883-1568
Recommended Gelato: Soy Gelato
Comment: My favorite is still the soy gelato no matter how
many times I visit. I used to visit Naia almost every day when
I was in college at Berkeley but since then have found it hard
to find parking, one of its very few cons. But if I were in the
area I would undoubtedly be back--maybe to even buy a packed
quart!
North Bay
Caffe
DiVino ($)
37 Caledonia St (Sausalito) | Phone: 415-331-9355
Recommended Dessert: Tiramisu
Comment: This restaurant does not only serve dessert, it also
serves Italian food. But my favorites here are the desserts because
they are so deliciously unique. Their Italian desserts are authentic
and tasty--hard to choose the best but I had to make the decision
of tiramisu! Next time I will definitely be trying the entire meal,
appetizer, entree, and dessert.

Dessert House ($)
5217 Geary Blvd (Richmond) | 415-668-8812
Recommended Dessert: Black Glutinous Rice in Mango & Coconut
Juice w/ Mango
Comment: I don't think there is anything I have eaten
here that I haven't liked. This dessert "restaurant" first
started in China but recently moved to San Francisco. Almost
all of their dishes have mango and sago in it, some have
my favorite rice balls, perfect combinations of sweetness
and chewiness. The mango is always fresh,
as
proven
by their piles of mangos they are constantly peeled and cutting,
and all the ingredients are freshly made. The taste of their
desserts prove this for sure.
Holy
Gelato! ($)
1392 9th Ave (Sunset) | Phone: 415-681-3061
Recommended Gelato: Peanut Butter Chocolate Gelato
Comment: They do charge a bit much for their gelato but
the flavor is absolutely divine! They even have fat-free
gelato for those that are watching their figure, and of course
fat-filled gelato that we all love.
Mitchell's ($)
688 San Jose Ave (Richmond) | Phone: 415-648-2300
Recommended Ice Cream: Cantaloupe (beware, it's seasonal)
Comment: Founded in San Francisco and immensely popular
even on the cold, freezing nights, their ice cream comes in
standard flavors, tropical flavors, sorbets, and seasonal flavors,
which include my favorite, cantaloupe. They have been winning
awards since 1953 and patrons have been visiting time and time
again years and years over. Creamy and flavorful.
Sophie's
Crepes ($)
1581 Webster St (Pacific Heights) | Phone: 415-929-7732
Recommended Crepe: Any of them!
Comment: Sophie's Crepes never disappointed when it comes
to quantity. They are very generous with their portions,
the crepe is a perfect consistency, meal crepes, and dessert
crepes alike. Delicious!
South
Bay
Banana
Crepe ($)
248 Jackson St (San Jose) | Phone: 408-271-2644
Recommended Drink: Watermelon & Strawberry Hawaiian Shaved Ice
Comment: Although this place doesn't have the greatest of atmospheres,
their shaved ice is spectacular especially on warmer days and nights.
Mmm!!
