If you replace just one light bulb, one that you use an average of eight hours per day, in one year you can save almost $15 and in three years more than $40. Incandescent light bulbs truly only use 10% of its energy usage on powering the light, the other 90% of its energy usage is wasted as unnecessary heat. However, remember that these light bulbs do contain a small amount of mercury so make sure to dispose of them properly when the time comes to replace them.
